More about the Dehavilland Dash 8
The Bombardier Dash 8 series is one of the most successful lines of regional turbo props in history. The line has produced 4 variants of the Dash 8 and is still currently in production. To date over 1150 have been built, and service in dozens of airlines and militaries worldwide. Part of the reason for the Dash-8's success is due to timing. Bombardier marketed the aircraft to regional operators at a time when regional airlines were growing at an unprecedented rate. Since establishing a solid foot-hold in the regional airline market, the Dash-8 first developed the Dash-8-100 and shortly thereafter the 200. The Dash-8-300, and -400 followed shortly afterwards, as regionals expressed a desire for larger aircraft to support their mainline partners.
