User talk:Rodrigo Padula
Hi. I've seen you edit in this user talk page. I want to comunnicate with him since all their uploads are in a wrong category. Says "Lagoa", when that category is for an insect. Can you talk to him or help me to fix them? Regards. --Ganímedes (talk) 20:15, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, bien. Tienes alguna idea de la categoría que corresponde? --Ganímedes (talk) 00:04, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
GLAM project[edit]
I took a look at your pages on meta, Wikipedia, and Commons for your GLAM project with Museu da Imigração. Everything looks great! You might want to upload at least one file into your Commons category so the category doesn't get deleted.
Good luck with your project. - PKM (talk) 19:52, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
- There has been much discussion about the use of institutional accunts for GLAM projects, and I am not sure where we are currently on that. You should probably ask your question on the cultural-partners mailing list. If you are not on that list, you can get more information here: https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Mailing_lists
- I've been away from active GLAM projects fir the last couple of years. - - PKM (talk) 01:01, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
Please do not remove[edit]
Please do not remove deletion boxes as you recently did [here]. That is not helpful to the process. If you have an opinion about a deletion, please feel free to voice it, but do not remove the standard notices. Ellin Beltz (talk) 17:48, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Ellin Beltz: so the best option is to leave a nonsense vandalism/edit/request by an IP ? It was not a real deletion request or valid argument as you can read there Rodrigo Padula (talk) 19:41, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- The best would be to approach an admin (like myself) and ask for help. Alternatively leave a message at the Administrator's noticeboard. It is not a good idea to remove the notice boxes no matter how you personally feel about the situation as that action is reserved for administrators. Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 20:32, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Ellin Beltz: Hummm, I guess undo function and vandalism combat were open to everyone. Can you provide me links with that information that you provided here ? Rodrigo Padula (talk) 20:49, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- The entire process is described at COM:DEL. And it's a policy, so there's also a template.
- @Ellin Beltz: That proccess is the same when the delection requestion is a vandalism created by an IP ? Because it was not a serios deletion request/discussion, it was pure vandalism Rodrigo Padula (talk) 10:39, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, you leave the tags even when it's a problem and report either to a friendly admin or Admin's noticeboard, as stated before. Ellin Beltz (talk) 17:48, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
Please do not remove deletion requests[edit]

Welcome, Dear Filemover![edit]
Hi Rodrigo Padula, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:
- Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
- Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
- Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

Pictures removed by bot - what to do[edit]
Hi Rodrigo,
I saw that you said that a bot has removed Ciro's pictures. Well, the important thing is that the pictures are here on Commons. All you have to do is add them again to the articles. For example, that bot made this edit [1]. Nothing can be done in that case because the file has been deleted from Commons, but with Ciro's pictures you just have to copy and paste the names of the pictures again into the articles. I think that's better than using the "undo" option because I don't know if there's a limit to how many times you can "undo" edits in a short period of time. If you need any help please let me know. For example, you can show me some of the articles where this has happened, and I will put the pictures in the articles again, but I've been blocked from the English Wikipedia, so please show me articles from other Wikipedias. Boa noite! Dontreader (talk) 04:18, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Dontreader: How can I see where the files were used before the removal? There are any way to check the bot logs regarding an special user or list of files? Rodrigo Padula (talk) 13:15, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, I thought you or Ciro knew where the pictures were. I cannot think of a solution. I believe there is more than one bot that removes files (maybe one for the English Wikipedia, one for a different Wikipedia, etc.), and other file names might have been removed by random editors when the pictures disappeared. The pictures were tagged as "Missing permission" on 15 July (UTC), so they were probably deleted on 22 July (UTC). I don't know how soon the bots edit the affected pages, but of course we would have to look at bot edits from 22 July and later. I looked for two of Ciro's files in the history of the English Wikipedia bot here but they are not mentioned on that page. Please, do you know the name of the Portuguese Wikipedia bot that removes links to pictures? Dontreader (talk) 18:55, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Copyright status: File:Ação Educativa.jpg[edit]
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Ação Educativa.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Uploads[edit]
Hi, please make sure to fill in the source field of your uploads. You are flooding the Images without source maintenance category. Jcb (talk) 23:31, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Now you are apparently uploading with automated software, I have blocked your account for an hour to stop the bot. Please leave a message here if you read this and have turned of the bot, so that I can unblock you. I am monitoring this page. Jcb (talk) 23:55, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- When the block expired, the uploads started again, so I blocked your account again, this time for 6 hours. Please be aware that I will not be around to unblock you for the full six hours. That's the consequence of doing automated edits without monitoring them. Jcb (talk) 01:03, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2018 is open![edit]
Dear Rodrigo Padula,
You are receiving this message because we noticed that you voted in R1 of the 2018 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in the second round. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2018) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked.
In the final (and current) round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2018.
Round 2 will end 17 March 2019, 23:59:59.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 18:05, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

Important message for file movers[edit]
A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect
user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.
Possible acceptable uses of this ability:
- To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
- To perform file name swaps.
- When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)
Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.
The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect
user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:36, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
Source of derivative work is not properly indicated: File:Rio from above meeting 09.jpg[edit]
This file may be deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Rio from above meeting 09.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

File tagging File:Lu do Magal.webp[edit]
This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Lu do Magal.webp. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Lu do Magal.webp]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
Darwin Ahoy! 17:50, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
File:Lu do Magal.webp has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Thanks for uploading File:Frederico Trajano Magazine Luiza.jpg.
Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Frederico Trajano Magazine Luiza.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Frederico Trajano Magazine Luiza.jpg, was missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. [[:File:Frederico Trajano Magazine Luiza.jpg]] ).
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. Thank you! |

Thanks for uploading File:Macchi M-9 Aerobote de reconhecimento e bombardeio (26087942604).jpg.
Thank you. |
