Developed in recognition of the growing demand for jets to replace turboprops, the Dornier 328JET is the perfect aircraft for regional travel and group charters. The Dornier 328JE is a jet-powered version of the Dornier 328 turboprop, with FADEC equipped Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306 turbofans mounted in underwing pods, plus with other upgraded features including strengthened fuselage frames to support the new engines, strengthened landing gear and brakes, and slight changes to the software of the Honeywell Primus 2000 EFIS avionics suite. The Dornier 328JET is also offered successfully as Business Jet under the name Envoy 3, with longer range and various VIP cabin layouts.
